About The Position

Cohere Health is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join its Engineering team. The role designs retrieval architectures, builds AI-powered agents, and owns production deployments serving health insurance plans that cover more than 15 million people. The engineer will partner with product, data science, and clinical teams to build systems that deliver clinical intelligence at scale, including hands-on software development and HIPAA-compliant production systems. This is a remote-first role that may require travel to Boston, Massachusetts, for new-hire onboarding and occasional in-person team meetings and company events. The engineer will participate in developing, evaluating, and deploying Cohere’s AI-powered agents and applications; design data and retrieval architectures that provide agents with relevant context from diverse healthcare sources; and design, review, and own high-quality agentic code. Responsibilities include leading releases and production deployments, providing on-call support, collaborating with ML/data science, product, and architecture teams, ensuring security and privacy compliance, and contributing to agile planning and delivery. Cohere Health’s clinical intelligence platform and agentic AI-powered solutions connect health plans’ strategic goals with providers’ needs to optimize the speed, cost, and quality of care. Its solutions support payer-provider decision-making across the care continuum, including policy, prior authorization, and payment accuracy. Following its acquisition of ZignaAI, Cohere Health launched its Payment Integrity Suite, anchored by Cohere Validate™, an AI-driven clinical and coding validation solution. The company describes its culture as collaborative, empathetic, inclusive, and growth-oriented.
