Senior AI Engineer (Unannounced Project)

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join our team at ArenaNet. In this role, you will be responsible for developing AI and game systems using Unreal Engine. Your main focus will be on creating immersive worlds and believable behaviors for NPCs, while also ensuring efficient workflows for content creation. • Develop AI and relevant game systems using Unreal Engine
• Work across disciplines to develop systems that tell stories and draw players into an immersive world
• Support workflows that make creating content for these systems fast and efficient at scale
• Collaborate with designers and other disciplines to build AI and gameplay related systems
• Understand factors affecting the performance of AI and gameplay systems and optimize them
• Help non-technical teammates understand and effectively work with technical systems
• Provide tools, debug utilities, or other interfaces for content creators using the systems
• Listen to design goals and creatively synthesize solutions based on experience and engine capabilities
• Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a healthy and friendly work environment

• Experienced AI Engineer
• Proficient in developing AI and relevant game systems using Unreal Engine
• Ability to work across disciplines to develop various systems that tell stories and engage players
• Familiarity with workflows for creating content at scale
• Passion for creating believable behaviors for NPCs
• Experience working closely with designers and other disciplines
• Understanding of factors affecting the performance of AI and gameplay systems
• Ability to diagnose and optimize AI and gameplay systems
• Experience in helping non-technical teammates understand and work effectively with technical systems
• Strong communication and listening skills to understand design goals and provide creative solutions
• Ability to provide tools, debug utilities, or other interfaces for content creators
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
