About The Position

As part of Samsara's Marketing Data and Analytics (MDA) Engineering team, this role shapes the technical roadmap alongside BI and Data Science peers. The engineer architects core Databricks pipelines, Gold Layer tables, and semantic models, turning ambiguous business challenges into valuable data products, autonomous agents, and cross-functional automation. The role is open to candidates residing in the US. The position owns the marketing data infrastructure and supports self-serve BI and conversational analytics. It partners with Marketing, Sales, R&D, and BI to translate business needs into scalable solutions, lead complex initiatives, and ensure shipped data products are reliable and high quality. It also leads the team's most challenging technical work, mentors engineers and analysts, and advances the strategic use of AI through production-ready products, agents, and workflow automation. The role requires strong hands-on experience with data engineering, Python, SQL, data modeling, DBT, modern data warehouse and lakehouse architectures, and production LLM or agent systems. The position also uses agentic coding tools while retaining responsibility for verifying their output. Compensation is an annual base salary of $137,445–$231,000 USD, with an initial RSU grant and ongoing refresh opportunities tied to performance, subject to plan terms. The position is also eligible for performance-based bonus or variable pay and equity as described in the total rewards information.
