Senior AI Architect

JB Poindexter & Co•Houston, TX

About The Position

J.B. Poindexter & Co., Inc. is a privately held, diversified manufacturing company forecasting over $2.5 billion in annual revenues and employing over 8,000 team members. Its six operating subsidiaries, across 60 locations, produce commercial truck bodies, step-vans, utility trucks, ambulances, electric and alternative-fuel vehicles, and expandable foam plastic packaging. The Senior AI Architect designs and implements enterprise AI solutions to improve business processes, reduce manual work, strengthen decision-making, and create measurable business value. Working within Information Technology and in close partnership with the Office of AI, business leaders, technical teams, and vendors, this role translates the AI strategy, platform direction, and governance standards established by the Senior Director of AI into scalable technical designs and production-ready solutions. The position reports directly to the Chief Information Officer. The role combines architecture leadership with hands-on technical work, including designing solutions, developing prototypes, writing code, evaluating technical approaches, and supporting implementations. Initial priorities include manufacturing, supply chain, operations, sales, and customer-facing processes, followed by corporate functions. The architect also supports delivery through technical direction and coaching, without direct supervisory responsibility, and works with business owners to measure results and guide continuous improvement.
