About The Position

This role is for a product-minded, full-stack engineer who will use AI coding agents as core development tools to ship faster and smarter. The engineer will operate with limited oversight and broad organizational scope, architecting systems, setting technical direction, and driving engineering standards across teams. This position is crucial in shaping the technology foundation of arrivia, a leader in travel loyalty, membership, and cruise solutions. The role involves making high-impact architectural and strategic decisions, leading by example, mentoring engineers, and influencing technology investment decisions. A key responsibility will be shaping the organization's adoption of agentic development by defining patterns, prompt libraries, and MCP integrations to enhance engineer productivity.

Requirements

8+ years of full-stack development and architectural experience building web applications and services.
Expert proficiency using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot in professional workflows.
Strong proficiency in two or more of TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or C#/.NET.
Deep experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue, or Angular.
A proven track record architecting and delivering cloud-native solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Extensive experience with RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
Deep understanding of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and experience architecting MCP server ecosystems.
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
A track record of leading technical designs, mentoring engineers across teams, and raising engineering maturity.

Nice To Haves

A formal CS degree is a plus, not a requirement. Depth of engineering knowledge matters most.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, and develop features and services for our travel platform as a technical leader on a full-stack product team.
Standardize agentic coding tools across engineering teams, establishing best practices, prompt libraries, and workflows that amplify productivity org-wide.
Review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability, setting the standard across teams.
Revitalize aging services through refactoring, migration, and cloud-native distributed design.
Define patterns and platforms that automate testing, documentation, code-review triage, and deployment checks at scale.
Design Model Context Protocol integrations that connect AI agents to internal tools, data, and platform services across the development lifecycle.
Lead improvements to development and operations of an increasingly distributed architecture across cloud platforms.
Safeguard the privacy and security of members' sensitive data with our Risk and Security teams.
Introduce processes that help us ship quicker, learn sooner, and isolate impact, and help establish and meet system SLOs.
Guide engineers on AI-assisted development, prompt engineering, and agentic workflow design.
