About The Position

AJW Group is a world-leading independent specialist in the supply, exchange, repair and lease of aircraft spare parts. With over 90 years of aviation experience, AJW supports over 1000 airlines across 100 countries. One of the main divisions of the AJW Group is AJW Technique, a state-of-the-art component Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility with over 150 experienced and passionate technicians in Montreal. The position holder will be able to deliver advanced and innovative engineering solutions to support engineering-level operations while reducing costs and improving the reliability of our clients' components. The position holder will also be in charge of introducing new component repair capabilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a similar aerospace environment, ideally in an MRO service
  • University degree in Engineering related to the aerospace field
  • Member of the OIQ
  • Strong knowledge of engineering and quality systems in an aerospace environment
  • In-depth experience with aircraft components and/or systems
  • Knowledge of the “5S” philosophy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English for reading and understanding maintenance manuals and for both internal and external (OEMs, customers) exchanges
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail
  • Team player and interpersonal skills to establish good relationships with all employees
  • Organizational skills, results-oriented, flexible

Responsibilities

  • Actively support production teams in resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Prepare technical instructions required for component repair activities and shop-floor support
  • Design tools, test equipment, and software to test and certify these components
  • Research, develop, and implement technical piece-part repair solutions to improve reliability and reduce component repair costs
  • Liaise with OEMs to resolve complex technical issues
  • Review equipment Service Bulletins (SBs) across the entire product portfolio and recommend reliability and cost improvements
  • Monitor component reliability in collaboration with key customers
  • Lead technical investigations related to customer component issues
  • Review Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) and determine test equipment, technician training, and material requirements
  • Manage projects throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
  • Prepare business cases and financial justifications to support new product introductions
  • Assist with the training of technicians
