About The Position

The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is seeking a Senior Advisor to support the Chief Asset & Capital Management Officer (CACMO) in overseeing the Asset & Capital Management (A&CM) Division. This division manages a $6 billion capital projects portfolio, focusing on modernization, sustainability, and resiliency. The Senior Advisor will play a crucial role in ensuring strategic alignment among senior staff, coordinating cross-departmental efforts, and managing high-priority requests and external collaborations. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to public service, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience leading change initiatives. Specific experience in capital projects delivery, asset management, sustainability, or architecture/engineering is highly preferred. The work culture is customer service-oriented, collaborative, and delivery-focused.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four (4) years of satisfactory, responsible, full-time experience in a large government agency or business firm with programs in the field of housing, real estate/management, housing construction, engineering or a related field.
  • At least eighteen (18) months of the experience must have been in a responsible administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity.
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to the above.
  • Strong sense of commitment to public service and affordable housing.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully leading major strategic and operational change initiatives.
  • Ability to effectively represent A&CM within the organization and represent NYCHA in public forums and liaise with government partners and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a thought partner to the CACMO and other A&CM senior leadership on strategic issues, division-wide strategies, priorities, and performance management.
  • Represent the CACMO in key meetings to advance the A&CM Division’s agenda.
  • Address high-priority requests and urgent coordination needs, working closely with senior leaders within A&CM, across NYCHA, and externally.
  • Identify and coordinate the implementation of policy, procedural, and systems improvements in A&CM departments and in collaboration with other divisions.
  • Structure analysis and operational approaches, develop outputs, and effectively project manage across diverse teams.
  • Coach and support team members in structuring analysis, developing outputs, and project management.
  • Manage internal, NYCHA-wide, and external communication from the Office of the CACMO, promoting accurate representation and understanding.
  • Prepare briefing materials for the CACMO as needed.
