About The Position

Serve as a subject matter expert, providing strategic leadership and oversight for the comprehensive management of complex and diverse vendor portfolios. Instrumental in optimizing critical vendor relationships, ensuring contract compliance, and driving the achievement of strategic procurement objectives through enhanced value, mitigated risk, and operational efficiency. Plans, organizes, and evaluates the business and financial aspects of corporate contracting. Is responsible for the development and enhancement of contractual agreements for procurement and Group Purchasing Organization.

  • 10+ years of relevant experience and 2+ years of leadership / management experience, required.

  • Process Improvement & Policy Development: Experience in developing, implementing, and optimizing contract management policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency, compliance, and overall organizational effectiveness.
  • Legal & Risk Mitigation: Advanced capability in identifying, assessing, and proactively mitigating legal, financial, and operational risks associated with contractual agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine contract templates, incorporating robust terms and conditions related to pricing, warranties, liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution.
  • Proactively identify and assess legal and financial risks within complex transactions, escalating critical issues and collaborating with stakeholders to formulate effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Offers expert strategic and contractual counsel to senior leadership and business partners on diverse contractual matters.
  • Monitor, interpret, and ensure adherence to evolving legal and regulatory requirements impacting healthcare procurement, including FDA, HIPAA, and CMS guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Service Line leadership and external vendors to effectively resolve complex contractual disputes, safeguarding the best interests of the Health System.
  • Develops and monitors strategic operating goals, objectives and budgets; reports on operational performance, justification, and/or corrective actions.
  • Develops and pursues cost reduction opportunities; identifies and builds business relationships to advance strategic goals.
  • Facilitates the business and financial aspects of negotiations, contracts and procurement (i.e. capital, supply, service, IT, pharmacy, lab, maintenance, and consulting agreements.).
  • Directs and oversees the implementation and maintenance of a procurement and GPO contract database.
  • Serves as a liaison to organization departments regarding contract terms, conditions, applicable System policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Oversees business and financial activities throughout contract life cycle to ensure adherence to contractual agreements by all parties.
  • Analyzes complex business opportunities and presents complex data sets to leadership that influence internal change, reducing total delivered cost.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with Procurement and organization team members to achieve supply expense reduction targets established by the Supply Chain Cost Reduction Initiative.
