Senior Advanced Software Engineer/Atlassian & DevOps Tools Expert
About The Position
As a Senior Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will leverage your deep expertise in Atlassian tools and modern DevOps/DevSecOps practices to play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions while enabling secure, automated Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and toolchains across the software development lifecycle. You will report directly to our Sr IT Manager and you’ll work on a hybrid work schedule out of our Phoenix, Arizona site. Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo).
- Expertise in modern DevOps/DevSecOps practices.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions.
- Experience enabling secure, automated CI/CD pipelines and toolchains.
- Experience with artifact repositories (Artifactory).
- Experience with code quality and security tools (SonarQube, Black Duck Hub, Coverity).
- Experience automating workflows, reporting, and dashboards.
- Experience collaborating with development, security, and infrastructure teams.
- Experience troubleshooting CI/CD, build, and deployment issues.
- Mentoring junior engineers.
- Staying current with emerging DevOps, DevSecOps, and AI-assisted development technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure software systems.
- Lead the integration, administration, and customization of Atlassian tools including Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo to support Agile and DevOps workflows.
- Design and operate CI/CD pipelines integrating source control, build, test, security scanning, and artifact management tools.
- Manage and support artifact repositories using Artifactory, including repository structure, access control, and lifecycle management.
- Integrate and administer code quality and security tools such as SonarQube, Black Duck Hub, and Coverity to enable DevSecOps practices.
- Automate workflows, reporting, and dashboards across DevOps and DevSecOps tools to improve developer productivity and compliance.
- Collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams to embed security and quality checks early in the SDLC.
- Troubleshoot CI/CD, build, and deployment issues across environments.
- Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices for DevOps, CI/CD, and tool usage.
- Stay current with emerging DevOps, DevSecOps, and AI-assisted development technologies and recommend improvements.
