About The Position

The Sr. Advanced Project Engineer will be responsible for capital projects, equipment installations, and operational improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility. This role combines traditional project management with hands-on process development, requiring the ability to identify opportunities, develop innovative solutions, conduct trials, and implement improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 5+ years of related experience supporting industrial or manufacturing capital projects/programs
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics (MEP, structural, electrical diagrams)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills and significant bias for action.
  • Ability to build rapport / relationships with internal and external suppliers
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex and challenging problems
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD to develop equipment/plant layouts and related drawings.

  • SAP Expertise – Proficient in using SAP for asset tracking, work orders, and reporting.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience with industrial automation.
  • Experience with manufacturing process development.
  • Familiarity with capital project management.
  • Experience in continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Develop business case and cost justification for potential projects and submit/manage capital project proposals through approval stages.
  • Coordinate Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Safety, Quality, Purchasing, and outside contractors.
  • Track milestones and communicate project status to leadership.
  • Manage project risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Support equipment startup, validation, and turnover to operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and material flow.
  • Develop and evaluate new manufacturing methods.
  • Conceptualize innovative solutions to recurring production challenges.
  • Design and execute controlled process trials.
  • Collect and analyze production data to validate improvements.
  • Develop standardized work and implementation plans.
  • Document test results and make recommendations based on data.
  • Partner with operations to transition successful concepts into production.
  • Assist in developing equipment specifications.
  • Evaluate new technologies and automation opportunities.
  • Coordinate vendors and integrators during equipment installation.
  • Support FAT/SAT activities when applicable.
  • Assist with equipment acceptance and commissioning.
  • Develop operating procedures and training materials for new processes.
  • Develop equipment, parts and maintenance plans within SAP to support new equipment or modifications to existing systems.
  • Work closely with: Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, and outside contractors.
  • Present project updates to leadership team inside and outside of the plant.
  • Build consensus around proposed improvements, develop capital project proposals and business cases, and drive capital approval steps to support improvement projects.
  • Mentor team members involved in improvement projects.
