About The Position

Yanfeng is seeking a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to provide direct input to the Simultaneous Development Team (SDT). This role involves assessing manufacturing feasibility for product designs, engineering changes, scope changes, and quality concerns. The engineer will develop process flow and plant layout requirements, review product gaging and packaging strategies, and define necessary capital equipment and tooling while adhering to program budgets. Responsibilities also include project managing the procurement and acceptance of equipment and tooling, facilitating the implementation of production equipment/tooling into the manufacturing facility, and conducting technical training. Additionally, the role requires completing Process FMEA, managing RPN risks, assessing ergonomic concerns, supporting customer part needs through various stages, and creating/supporting continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Level Degree in Science Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering Plastics or Engineering Technology required (BSME or BSMET or similar). Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.
  • 5+ years minimum of experience in manufacturing engineering, advanced manufacturing, process engineering, tooling, or similar.
  • Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct input to the Simultaneous Development Team (SDT).
  • Provide manufacturing feasibility assessments for product design, engineering changes, scope changes and quality concerns.
  • Develop process flow and plant layout requirements.
  • Review product gaging and packaging strategies and assess the impact of those assumptions on the overall manufacturing strategy.
  • Define capital equipment and tooling required and maintain adherence to the budget of the program.
  • Project manage the procurement and acceptance of required equipment & tooling.
  • Facilitate the implementation of production equipment/tooling into the manufacturing facility and any corresponding technical training.
  • Complete Process FMEA and manage RPN risks.
  • Assess the product, process, equipment and tooling strategies for potential ergonomic concerns and manage action items to resolve.
  • Support customer part needs through pilot, testing, run-at-rate and internal process sign offs.
  • Create and support continuous improvement projects.
  • Understand, apply and meet all function related YF IOS requirements.
