Senior Actuarial Associate
About The Position
This role supports the quarterly financial reporting production cycle across US GAAP, Bermuda EBS/BSCR, and embedded value frameworks by analyzing modeled results and producing the reporting package. The position involves monitoring and refining existing analytics and reports, identifying opportunities for process enhancement and automation, and supporting the onboarding of new reinsurance treaties and products. It also includes supporting the annual actuarial assumption review, planning, and forecasting processes, serving as a point of contact for external audit requests, and contributing to ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, business, or related field required.
- A minimum of two years of actuarial experience is required.
- Familiarity with US GAAP (LDTI) and/or EBS/BSCR.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to anticipate, problem-solve, take action, and adapt in a fast-paced, growing business.
- High degree of attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with others in support of key initiatives.
Nice To Haves
- ASA designations are preferred.
- Some familiarity with R, Python, and/or comparable programming language, and/or actuarial modeling software (e.g., Prophet, MG-ALFA) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support the quarterly financial reporting production cycle across US GAAP, Bermuda EBS/BSCR, and embedded value frameworks through the analysis of modeled results and production of the reporting package
- Monitor and refine existing analytics and reports to ensure continued relevance and alignment with evolving business needs
- Identify opportunities to enhance, streamline, and automate reporting processes and analytical frameworks
- Support the onboarding of new reinsurance treaties and products including the design and implementation of controls and analytics frameworks
- Support the annual actuarial assumption review process including experience analysis, assumption assessment, and quantification of financial impacts
- Support the annual planning and quarterly forecasting processes
- Serve as a key point of contact for external audit requests related to actuarial reporting
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives across the actuarial and finance functions
- Other tasks as assigned.
