About The Position

Odyssey has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Acquisition Program Engineer - Weapon Data Link supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Armament Directorate. This role provides systems engineering and acquisition support to advance Air Force weapons programs. It focuses on the development, integration, testing, and deployment of weapon data link capabilities and ensuring interoperability across Federal, DoW, and Joint environments. Responsibilities span requirements development technical reviews, modeling and simulation and coordination across Air Force and Joint stakeholders. This is a full-time onsite position at Eglin Air Force Base, FL.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have a current Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in engineering and 18 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science (MS) degree in engineering and 13 years of relevant experience
  • One or more engineering degree must be from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Experience in systems engineering, weapon systems, data link integration, requirements analysis and DT/OT support.
  • Experience with tactical data links (Link-16, VMF), JMPS, or mission planning systems
  • Ability to operate independently on mission-critical efforts
  • Strong analytical reasoning and sound engineering judgment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to brief senior Government leadership
  • Experience coordinating across DoW/Joint engineering and test organizations.
  • Experience providing engineering support to acquisition programs, technical reviews, and risk management.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in engineering and 20 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science (MS) degree in engineering and 15 years of relevant experience; OR Ph.D. in related discipline and 5 years of relevant experience
  • One or more engineering degree must be from an ABET-accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

  • Support systems engineering across all phases of the acquisition life-cycle, including requirements, architecture, integration, and V&V.
  • Define and assess data link interoperability, interfaces, and verification/test requirements for networked weapons.
  • Support technical reviews (CDR, TIMs, MRAs) and develop associated engineering artifacts.
  • Conduct trade studies, modeling/simulation, and analyses for performance, cost, risk, and system effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with Air Force and Joint entities on C2, communications, and encryption key distribution infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with federal organizations for business/technical rules.
  • Provide engineering recommendations to program leadership related to weapon planning, communication, and control.
