Senior Acquisition Electrical Engineer
About The Position
MTSI is looking for a strong Senior Electrical Engineer to support the B-2 SPO at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. This role requires experience across electronics engineering, including design, development, testing/evaluation, implementation, maintenance, production, and sustainment of new or existing weapon systems, avionics, communication systems, or subsystems. The position emphasizes understanding of Air Force systems acquisition, hardware/software integration, requirements analysis, computer system architecture, and system-level test and evaluation. The engineer will also be responsible for reviewing, updating, and developing program documentation related to engineering requirements. Experience with aeronautical systems or airborne/ground-based avionics, particularly in sustaining engineering, is important.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from an ABET-accredited school plus 10 years of industry or government EE experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited school plus 18 years of industry experience
- Active Top Secret clearance and eligible for SCI and SAP access
- Experience across electronics engineering—design, development, testing/evaluation, implementation, maintenance, production, and sustainment of new or existing weapon systems, avionics, communication systems, or subsystems
- Understanding of Air Force systems acquisition
- Experience with hardware/software integration at the system and subsystem level
- Experience with requirements analysis
- Experience with computer system architecture
- Experience with system-level test and evaluation
- Experience reviewing, updating, and developing program documentation tied to engineering requirements
- Experience with aeronautical systems or airborne/ground-based avionics, especially as it relates to sustaining engineering
Responsibilities
- Apply DoD engineering principles and processes to improve performance and sustainability of current and future AF and joint-service weapon systems
- Provide technical leadership across complex hardware and software design efforts
- Support aircraft software and hardware development activities
- Contribute to systems engineering tasks including requirements management and test/evaluation
- Coordinate across government leadership, development teams, vendors, and users to ensure solutions align with mission needs and resources
- Identify and communicate project and system risks
- Create and maintain engineering documentation for the program
- Review systems engineering artifacts from development teams
- Capture and communicate accomplishments and insights through reports, documentation, and program reviews
- Apply risk management principles and identify opportunities for improvement
- Help translate user needs into requirements and support verification and traceability
