About The Position

Hoya Vision Care North America is seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Manager, Accounting (Contract) to provide leadership and continuity to our accounting organization during a critical enterprise transformation initiative. This 18-24 month contract role will serve as the operational leader of the accounting function while the permanent incumbent is dedicated to the implementation of SAP S/4HANA. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, leading the monthly close process, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies, and managing a team of accounting professionals. Beyond ensuring business continuity, this role will play a key leadership position within the finance organization, driving process discipline, supporting change management initiatives, and partnering closely with stakeholders throughout the SAP transformation. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership of monthly close, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Strong experience working within complex system environments.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, reporting, and internal controls.
  • Thorough understanding of IFRS.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with financial reporting and consolidation systems.
  • Strong process improvement and project management capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation preferred.
  • SAP experience strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting organizational transformation, ERP implementations, or large-scale process changes is considered a significant asset.
  • Experience within manufacturing, healthcare, consumer products, or similarly complex operational environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and corporate accounting policies.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and all supporting financial reporting processes.
  • Partner with FP&A and Finance Leadership to explain results, investigate variances, and identify financial risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure financial reporting deliverables are completed in accordance with established deadlines and quality standards.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the accounting team.
  • Establish clear priorities, accountability, and performance expectations.
  • Coach, develop, and support team members while maintaining high levels of engagement and performance.
  • Foster a collaborative and customer-focused culture across the accounting organization.
  • Ensure continuity of operations and effective workload management throughout the SAP implementation period.
  • Maintain a strong system of internal controls and financial governance.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary accounting contact for internal and external audits.
  • Coordinate audit requests and ensure timely resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
  • Monitor control effectiveness and support remediation activities where necessary.
  • Act as the accounting function leader during the ERP transformation by ensuring business continuity throughout the implementation.
  • Partner closely with the SAP project team and accounting leadership to support process changes, testing activities, cutover planning, and stabilization efforts.
  • Provide accounting subject matter expertise on financial reporting, controls, close processes, and operational accounting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve accounting processes in preparation for future-state operations.
  • Support change management efforts and help the accounting team successfully adapt to new processes and systems.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and strengthen accounting processes and controls.
  • Implement best practices that improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across financial reporting and accounting operations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for key processes and controls.
  • Build strong relationships with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Corporate stakeholders.
  • Provide clear and actionable accounting guidance to both finance and non-finance partners.
  • Support strategic initiatives by assessing accounting implications and operational impacts.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on accounting and financial reporting matters.
