As we continue to scale, we are seeking a Sr Accounting Manager to join our Finance team in our Teaneck, NJ office (in-office role). This position will serve as the company’s senior accounting leader, owning the integrity of the general ledger, financial reporting, and compliance with US GAAP. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in complex environments, has strong technical accounting judgment, and takes pride in building scalable, audit-ready accounting processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience applying US GAAP in complex areas
  • Advanced experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
  • Proven ability to manage and develop accounting staff
  • Hands-on and highly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, scaling environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in explaining accounting matters to non-accounting stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in manufacturing, hardware, or inventory-heavy environments - A big Plus
  • Demonstrated experience managing external audits and preparing technical accounting documentation

Responsibilities

  • Lead and own the company’s accounting function, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including review and approval of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Serve as the primary owner of the general ledger and ensure balance sheet integrity
  • Manage all external audit activities, including audit planning, technical accounting memos, audit schedules, and direct communication with auditors
  • Oversee complex accounting areas, including: Inventory and cost accounting, Fixed assets and capitalization policies, Contract Manufacturer (CM) liabilities, Cost of revenue (COR), manufacturing variances, and accruals
  • Review and approve inventory valuations, reconciliations, and rollforwards between sub-ledgers, ERP systems, and the GL
  • Ensure accurate accounting for fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation
  • Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Ensure ongoing audit readiness and compliance with internal and external reporting requirements
  • Prepare and review key accounting schedules and analyses, including balance sheet reconciliations, inventory aging, cost variance analysis, and COR detail
  • Partner with FP&A and leadership to support financial statement analysis and reporting needs
  • Mentor and develop members of the accounting team, establishing clear standards and accountability
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, close efficiency, and system usage (NetSuite)
