About The Position

Ashby is seeking a detail-oriented and highly experienced Senior Accounting Manager to own complex accounting areas, drive process and control improvements, and play a key role in the month-end close process. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong judgment, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment focused on long-term impact and timely execution. As Ashby prepares for its first financial audit and continues to scale, this role offers meaningful ownership and growth potential. The Senior Accounting Manager will play a key role in audit readiness, process improvement, and helping the team tighten close and reporting timelines. This role requires someone who embraces change and brings a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to evolving accounting practices. This is an individual contributor position with potential for direct reports in the future.

Requirements

  • CPA
  • 10+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience in a high-growth tech or SaaS environment
  • Experience with equity compensation, commissions accounting, or supporting a company through its first audit
  • Ability to take ownership and see tasks through from policy development to audit support
  • Proactive approach to documentation, controls, and financial reporting
  • Experience implementing new processes and tools
  • Team player willing to support the team wherever needed
  • Ability to work independently and bring solutions to the table
  • Comfort with ambiguity and evolving processes
  • Familiarity with equity, capitalized software, commissions accounting, and allocations
  • Experience working inside a growing company
  • Willingness to step into areas outside of core scope

Responsibilities

  • Implementing and owning the software capitalization process, including policy development, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Building and owning the commissions capitalization process, including journal entries, reporting, and reconciliations
  • Owning stock-based compensation and equity accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and disclosure support
  • Owning payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations
  • Assisting with allocation calculations and journal entries, including overhead, customer support, and depreciation
  • Supporting accounting for unique and complex transactions as they arise
  • Supporting public company readiness initiatives, including internal control implementation, financial reporting, and close process improvements
  • Working directly with external auditors on assigned areas
  • Supporting the broader accounting team and take on ad hoc projects as needed
