About The Position

As we enter our next phase of growth, we are seeking a technically strong, strategically minded Senior Accounting Manager to lead our accounting function. Reporting to the VP of Accounting, this role is a key member of the accounting leadership team and a cornerstone of our financial operations. You will own the day-to-day accounting function, ensure rigorous GAAP compliance, develop and mentor a high-performing team, and enhance the systems and processes needed to support a growing, high-velocity business. This position is on-site in Austin, TX. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. Availability to be in-office 4 days a week is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience including prior roles as an Accounting Manager/Senior Accounting Manager in a corporate accounting environment, preferably within Tech, SaaS, or Media.

Nice To Haves

  • Active CPA license is preferred, not required.
  • Experience with foreign subsidiaries is strongly preferred
  • Experience at a Big 4 firm is strongly preferred, not required.
  • Deep proficiency in NetSuite is strongly preferred.
  • Subject Matter Expert level knowledge of US GAAP, specifically ASC 606 and ASC 842.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Accounting Function: Own the integrity of the General Ledger. Responsible for the end-to-end financial close, ensuring financial statements are accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant. Manage day-to-day accounting operations and administrative tasks.
  • Internal Controls: Identify and implement internal controls/process improvements along with the VP of Accounting.
  • Scale Financial Operations: Move beyond "keeping the books" to building a scalable engine. This includes optimizing our ERP (NetSuite) and integrated fintech stack to automate workflows and reduce the close cycle.
  • Technical Accounting Authority: Implement new complex technical accounting standards, draft technical memos, and ensure compliance with accounting standards including ASC 606 (Revenue) and ASC 842 (Leases). Ensure the company remains ahead of regulatory changes.
  • Audit & Compliance Ownership: Collaborate with the external auditors, managing the annual financial audit and ensuring timely response to requests, and accurate financial data is supplied. Prepare tax schedules for Federal and State income tax filings.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor the accounting team. Your goal is to maintain a high-performing culture focused on accuracy, efficiency, and professional growth.
  • Strategic Partner: Collaborate with FP&A and Business Partners to provide financial insights that drive business decisions, going beyond the numbers to explain the "why."
