About The Position

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead the month‑end close process, oversee financial reporting, and support forecasting activities in a government contracting environment. This role will manage critical accounting functions, including allocations, journal entries, reconciliations, and DCAA audit support. The ideal candidate has deep Costpoint expertise, strong government contracting experience, and advanced Excel skills.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Strong Costpoint experience (required)
Government contracting experience (required)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data analysis)
Proven experience managing month‑end close and financial reporting
Hands‑on experience with allocations, reconciliations, and general ledger oversight
Experience supporting DCAA audits
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the monthly close process , ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
Oversee preparation and review of journal entries , account reconciliations, and allocations
Prepare and review financial statements and internal management reports
Support forecasting and budgeting activities in collaboration with finance leadership
Manage and maintain Costpoint accounting processes and reporting
Ensure compliance with government contracting and regulatory requirements
Provide DCAA audit support , including preparation of schedules, documentation, and responses
Review and monitor indirect rate structures and cost allocations
Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls and reporting accuracy
Mentor and guide accounting staff as appropriate
