As a Financial Operations Manager within our Client Accounting Services (CAS) group, you'll work with a dynamic team of accounting professionals while partnering strategically with our Controller to deliver comprehensive operational performance reporting across our diverse client portfolio. This role positions you at the intersection of financial operations and strategic leadership, where you'll analyze key metrics, identify performance trends, and present actionable insights to senior leadership that drive informed decision-making. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (BS/BA) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial governance within a corporate or client service environment.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience with proven ability to hire, train, evaluate, and develop accounting professionals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and/or CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) designation strongly preferred.
  • Experience with SSAE 16/SOC1 (formerly SAS70) or SOX-related design and review of control platforms and frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis functions.
  • Familiarity with property management accounting systems such as Yardi or MRI, or demonstrated ability to quickly master specialized accounting software.
  • Track record of successfully adapting to ambiguous situations and making sound decisions without complete information in dynamic business environments.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with proven ability to orchestrate multiple activities simultaneously while meeting competing deadlines.
  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment with demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering closely with the Controller to manage accounting operations and financial reporting for multiple CAS clients, serving as the go-to resource for procedures, complex issues, and stakeholder inquiries both internally and externally.
  • Overseeing compliance monitoring activities in collaboration with the Senior Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller, ensuring adherence to internal controls, best practices, and Service Organization Control Report (SOCR) requirements while leading implementation of improvements and supporting annual audit processes.
  • Assisting with onboarding of incoming properties, helping with a seamless integration of new client accounts into the business line.
  • Conducting comprehensive workpaper reviews to evaluate compliance with objectives and verify adequacy of procedures and documentation, while proactively managing the oversight environment to identify and resolve key issues before they escalate.
  • Communicating findings and recommendations to Senior Leadership and business partners through dashboards, KPIs, and detailed reports that effectively frame issues and provide actionable solutions.
  • Leading special projects and initiatives that drive operational improvements and enhance service delivery across the CAS organization.
