Requirements
- An associate degree in accounting with an emphasis in accounting preferred but will consider additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Solid overall general skills in working with numbers, computer, and 10-key entry, organizing, and communicating in both verbal and written form.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software (Excel and Word preferred).
- Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to provide suggestions for the improvement of practices and to work with fellow employees as part of a team.
- Repetitive motion of wrist, fingers, and arms.
- Ability to speak, read, and write the English language.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. The company will not sponsor employment visas now or in the future.
- Applicants must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English at a level necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
Responsibilities
- Assist in posting customer payments by recording checks and credit card transactions.
- Perform a daily route settlement processing cycle.
- Respond to calls and emails regarding customer account activities.
- Review A/R aging reports for assigned chain customers and independent customers.
- Perform pricing corrections to customer invoices.
- Make telephone calls requesting payment from customers, when necessary.
- Assist in the review of billing, collection, and cash posting processes for efficiency and best practices.
- Other accounting tasks, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned.
