Riverbend Community Mental Health is seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused Senior Accounting Analyst to join our Finance team and play a critical role in supporting the financial health, compliance, and long-term sustainability of our organization. As a Senior Accounting Analyst, you will serve as a key financial resource across the organization, supporting complex accounting functions, financial reporting, CCBHC reimbursement methodologies, grant accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance. You will help ensure that Riverbend's financial practices remain accurate, efficient, compliant, and aligned with the evolving requirements of a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or relevant professional experience will be considered.
  • Five (5) years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant professional experience may be considered.
  • Understanding of CCBHC financial requirements and healthcare reimbursement methodologies preferred.
  • Experience supporting Medicaid, Medicare, cost reporting, or grant-funded programs preferred.
  • Nonprofit, healthcare, government, or grant experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of federal grant regulations and Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) is a plus.

  • Advanced background in complex accounting, grant management, and financial reporting (healthcare or CCBHC experience preferred).
  • Strong grasp of GAAP, Federal Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), and Medicaid reimbursement rules.

Responsibilities

  • Support CCBHC Financial Compliance & Reimbursement – Manage financial data, reporting, and documentation supporting CCBHC certification, Medicaid/PPS reimbursement, grants, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze Financial Performance – Evaluate financial trends, variances, service-line costs, reimbursement, and expenditures to identify opportunities for efficiency, cost containment, and sustainability.
  • Drive Strategic Financial Planning – Develop financial models, forecasts, and ad hoc analyses to support workforce planning, service expansion, reimbursement optimization, and organizational decision-making.
  • Ensure Accurate Accounting & Reporting – Perform complex reconciliations, support monthly and annual close processes, and prepare financial schedules and reports across organizational, CCBHC, and grant functions.
  • Strengthen Compliance & Internal Controls – Support compliance with GAAP, CCBHC requirements, 2 CFR Part 200, Medicaid PPS, and federal/state grant regulations while preparing for audits and financial reviews.
  • Improve Financial Systems & Processes – Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate manual processes, improve data integrity, and optimize accounting systems to meet evolving CCBHC needs.
  • Partner Across the Organization – Collaborate with Finance and program leadership to translate complex financial information into actionable insights and support informed operational decisions.
  • Provide Technical Leadership – Mentor accounting staff, provide technical guidance, and contribute to finance-related projects and organizational initiatives.
