Facilities Management is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of the Utilities Division. This position plays a critical role in managing complex utility accounting functions, providing advanced financial analysis, and ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting, and rate development for campus utility services. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional seeking an opportunity to provide strategic financial oversight and support the University's critical utility operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 18 hours of accounting coursework.
- 24 months experience as a professional Accountant.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced financial analyses to support utility rate modeling, capital project oversight, and strategic budget planning.
- Develop, validate, and implement utility rate structures and related financial models.
- Analyze utility usage and historical costs, identify trends or anomalies, and communicate findings to campus stakeholders.
- Prepare and design complex financial reports and customized reporting tools for utility operations.
- Forecast utility usage and costs, conduct variance analyses, and support long-term financial planning.
- Maintain continuity and accuracy in essential accounting functions, including commodity billing and invoice processing.
