About The Position

Atkore is seeking a Senior Accountant to be based out of their Weatherford, TX facility. This role reports to the Sr. Finance Manager and is responsible for preparing and completing the month-end financial close process. This includes tasks such as journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate supplemental reporting templates and compliance reporting in accordance with US GAAP. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
5+ years of accounting experience
Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and data query tools
Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, complex technical issues in a clear, concise matter, to individuals with little or no technical background
Ability to take initiative by identifying problems, conceptualizing resolutions, and implementing change
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced team environment with minimum supervision; Ability to work efficiently and accurately with details and fluctuating work volumes

Nice To Haves

Experience with JD Edwards, SAGE, AS400 and Hyperion preferred

Responsibilities

Prepare month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly close deliverables
Assist in preparation of the monthly flux analysis for management review
Prepare audit support for external and internal audits
Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures & performing internal control procedures (SOX) in areas of responsibility
Establish effective relationships and work cross-functionally across the organization
Drive process improvements and efficiencies for areas of responsibility
Participate in special projects, analysis, and reporting as required by management
Develop & implement processes into Shared Services for selected areas
