About The Position

Purdys Chocolatier is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Finance team in Vancouver, BC. This full-time, permanent role is responsible for accurate financial reporting, financial analysis, tax research, and supporting the finance department through an ERP uplift. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting systems, financial processes, reporting, and regulatory requirements, along with excellent analytical skills.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing or retail is an asset
• CPA designation
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience with financial system migration
• Proficiency in financial analysis and accounting software (experience with Syteline is an asset)
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and strong leadership skill
• Experience in a manufacturing/and or retail environment is an asset

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP
• Perform detailed financial analysis to support business decisions and identify trends
• Provide support in implementing new accounting standards and regulations
• Have a good understanding of corporate tax to prepare monthly tax accruals, research and provide guidance to support new initiatives
• Coordinate and support the team through an ERP migration to Cloud platform as a key project
