About The Position

Our client, a growing distribution company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to take ownership of core accounting operations while helping bring structure, clarity, and leadership to the function. This is a high-impact role where you’ll partner closely with leadership, improve processes, and play a key part in financial visibility and decision-making.

Requirements

5+ years of full cycle accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s preferred
Experience in distribution or similiar industry
Strong background in managing and improving accounting processes
Proven ability to lead, delegate, and build structure within a team
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
Experience with ERP accounting systems

Responsibilities

Oversee daily accounting operations and lead the month-end close process
Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and variance reports
Manage AP, AR, billing, payroll, and bank reconciliations
Handle moderate invoice volume and track field expenses
Maintain and update a three month cash flow forecast to support planning
Ensure accuracy in financial data, coding, and compliance with policies and regulations
Establish and improve accounting processes, systems, and internal controls
Monitor budgets, financial performance, liabilities, and key risk areas
Deliver financial dashboards and insights to leadership
Support strategic decisions through financial analysis and recommendations
Oversee tax filings (sales tax, payroll taxes, 1099s) and coordinate with external advisors
Manage banking relationships, including deposits, transfers, and loan tracking
Assist with audits and lead special projects as needed
