About The Position

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the monthly analytical review of financial statements, preparing and reviewing general ledger reconciliations, and supervising Accounts Payable. This role also involves assisting with cost reports, reviewing fixed asset recordings and depreciation, and aiding in year-end audits. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will review monthly payroll reconciliations, prepare a monthly giveback spreadsheet, and assist in documenting finance department operating procedures. The position requires tying monthly attendance to revenue entry, managing Visa and Gulf gas accounts, supervising quarterly individuals’ funds audits, and assisting with state reporting requirements and external audit requests. The Senior Accountant will also prepare month-end reports, supervise Staff Accountants, and train new accountants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other related area within the Financial field.
  • At least 5 years experience in the accounting field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and have experience creating and utilizing various spreadsheets.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and be able to take initiative when given a project.
  • Must be highly confidential when dealing with various aspects of the position based on the subject matter.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of MIP Accounting software a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the monthly analytical review of the financial statements according to the defined standards for both companies.
  • Together with the Staff Accountant prepare and review the monthly general ledger reconciliations for CRI and Outreach.
  • Supervision of Accounts Payable, adding new vendors as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of DDS midyear and annual ICF Cost Reports. Assist in the preparation of the OP-Plan, COR and the Cost Reports and submit for review.
  • Review the recording of all fixed assets and their applicable depreciation.
  • Assist with the year end audit.
  • Review the monthly payroll reconciliations for both companies and submit for review.
  • Prepare the giveback spreadsheet monthly for review no later than the 15th work day of the month.
  • Assist with the preparation and documentation of Finance Dept. operating procedures.
  • Responsible for tying the monthly attendance to the revenue entry and creating a MIP upload.
  • Maintain the Visa and Gulf gas accounts, ordering and cancelling cards as needed.
  • Supervise the quarterly individuals’ funds audits process, training staff as necessary.
  • Assist the Finance Department with any state reporting requirements other than those mentioned in #4 above, including external audit requests.
  • Prepare timely and accurate month end reports including the P&L, BS, bank recs and any other report as assigned.
  • Supervise Staff Accountants, and assist in training new accountants.
  • Any other job requirements as needed.
