About The Position
Strata Decision Technology, a fintech company in a growth phase, is seeking a Senior Accountant to strengthen its accounting function as the business scales. The role has ownership of month-end close, technical accounting, and core accounting processes, and works closely with the accounting team, FP&A, and business operations. The position supports accurate and timely close activities, U.S. GAAP application, audit requests, process improvements, systems enhancements, financial reporting, and development of junior accounting staff.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting or corporate accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Hands-on experience with SOX compliance.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A process improvement mindset and interest in making processes more efficient and effective.
Nice To Haves
- CPA or active CPA candidacy.
- Experience with NetSuite.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities for assigned general ledger areas, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Apply U.S. GAAP to complex transactions.
- Maintain accounting policies and documentation, and support internal and external audit and review requests.
- Partner with billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to resolve discrepancies and improve process controls.
- Identify process improvements and support system enhancements in NetSuite and other accounting systems.
- Support financial analysis and leadership reporting, including variance explanations and financial statement disclosures.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to team process documentation.
