As the Senior Accountant, you will be expected to ensure daily accounting controls are being followed and to manage our close on a monthly and annual basis. There will also be some deep dives into the general ledger to identify issues and work cross functionally to provide solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience in audit; CPA or on track.
  • Must have audit experience involving public or large private companies.
  • Proficient in using MS Office suite.
  • Have a fundamental understanding of a full month-end close process.
  • Detail oriented and inquisitive.
  • Exhibits accountability and ownership.
  • Able to work without supervision and meet tight deadlines.
  • Interest in learning new processes and implementing the latest technology in a fast paced, data driven environment.

Nice To Haves

  • NetSuite and SQL experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly and annual financial close, including account reconciliations, entering journal entries, and maintaining accurate records and files.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with designing and implementing new control procedures related to month-end close and other general accounting activities.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with improvements to month-end close by improving the timing of close items along with improving the month-end account reconciliations.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager and work with cross-functional partners on the improvement of benefit billing and review processes.
  • Work cross-functionally with the Insurance Billing Operations group to complete the monthly billing process for our insurance carriers.
  • Create reviews and procedures that ensure billing data is accurately captured in our accounting records.
  • Assist with special projects, as needed.
  • Supporting external auditors as necessary.
