Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality or food production industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas and functions) and Microsoft Word.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
  • Proven ability to solve problems resourcefully and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with manual data entry systems and a hands-on approach to work.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within international and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with multiple departments, all levels of staff, and external vendors.
  • Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintained the General Ledger and managed month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Set up payroll and accounts payable accruals and deferrals.
  • Prepared journal entries and allocation entries across multiple reporting entities.
  • Created intercompany invoices and reconciled intercompany accounts.
  • Prepared monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Analyzed revenue and expense accounts to ensure accurate monthly financial reporting.
  • Maintained the fixed asset schedule and calculated depreciation.
  • Reconciled company credit card accounts.
  • Indirectly supervised accounts payable invoice processing to ensure accurate account coding and postings.
  • Assisted in preparing monthly financial statements and variance reports.
  • Documented and maintained internal controls.
  • Supported the preparation of tax returns and corporate reporting requirements.
  • Researched, resolved, and responded to internal and external accounting inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Coordinated and supervised internal, external, and tax audits.
  • Prepared multi-state sales tax returns.
  • Analyzed financial reports and provided requested reporting and insights to management.
