About The Position

Purple Rhombus Inc. designs, builds, manufactures, and tests UAS for US government and commercial customers. Focused on producibility, Purple Rhombus aircraft are designed for scale manufacture. We are seeking mission-driven individuals to join the team to build the next generation of unmanned aircraft. Purple Rhombus is seeking a Senior Accountant – Government Compliance to support full-cycle accounting operations across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial recordkeeping, with particular emphasis on government contract billing and compliance. This role maintains accurate, audit-ready financial records and works closely with program, contracts, and finance leadership to ensure billing and reporting comply with federal acquisition regulations and government invoicing requirements.

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of accounting experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close activities, and payroll processing.
  • Experience working on government contracts, with working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Experience submitting invoices through Wide Area Workflow (WAWF), or ability to learn quickly.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations and support full-cycle accounting functions.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in an aerospace, defense, or government contracting environment.
  • Familiarity with Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) and government reporting cycles.
  • Experience supporting external financial or government audits.
  • Experience with Foundation software or similar accounting/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform full-cycle accounting support including data entry, recordkeeping, and month-end close activities.
  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of company accounts.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records and documentation, and support external audit requests by gathering and preparing supporting documentation.
  • Support compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) requirements across day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Prepare and submit contract invoices through Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) and track related documentation and approvals.
  • Monitor Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) billing and maintain supporting records for government contract audits and reviews.
  • Assist with cost allowability, allocability, and reasonableness reviews consistent with FAR Part 31 cost principles.
  • Coordinate with program management and contracting to ensure contract-related financial data is accurate and complete.
