We are looking for a dynamic Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the month‑end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and technical accounting for a fast‑paced diagnostic laboratory environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial records, compliant revenue recognition, proper cost allocation, and timely reporting. The Senior Accountant partners closely with Operations, Revenue Cycle, Compliance, and FP&A to ensure the financial statements reflect the true performance of the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience; healthcare or diagnostic laboratory experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition (ASC 606).
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment with competing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with cross‑functional teams.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Lead components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed asset entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain the general ledger and support consolidation processes as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
  • Support revenue recognition for laboratory services, ensuring compliance with ASC 606.
  • Reconcile revenue, AR, denials, payer adjustments, and write‑offs in coordination with the Revenue Cycle team.
  • Monitor changes in reimbursement patterns and validate financial impacts.
  • Reconcile cost of goods sold, consumables, reagents, and inventory activity.
  • Partner with laboratory operations to validate cost‑per‑test, usage variances, and supply allocation.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation, and capital expenditure tracking.
  • Maintain internal controls and support compliance with GAAP, healthcare regulations, and company policies.
  • Support external auditors during annual audits, providing schedules, documentation, and explanations.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline financial workflows.
  • Assist in optimizing the ERP environment (NetSuite preferred), including chart of accounts, workflows, and reporting.
  • Support automation projects across Finance, RCM, and Operations.
  • Collaborate with FP&A to improve data integrity and streamline cross‑functional processes.
