We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Accountant. This is a full time, exempt position working in our Wilkes Barre, PA office location. Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to work at our Wilkes Barre, PA office location. This role will primarily focus on executing the monthly close process, while also playing a key part in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting by managing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and thrives in a deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA a plus).
  • 2–5 years of experience in accounting, with strong knowledge of the month-end close process.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Intacct, QuickBooks, SAP) and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth company.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Previous involvement in process automation or system implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the month-end and year-end close processes in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries (e.g., accruals, prepaids, depreciation).
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Analyze monthly financial results and provide variance explanations.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reports.
  • Maintain and update accounting schedules (fixed assets, amortization, etc.).
  • Assist with audits by providing supporting documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and improve close efficiency.
  • Continuously identify process improvements and help implement best practices in financial operations.
