About The Position

Kings River Packing, LP is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in managing core accounting functions and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting for the company and its related entities. This position owns the month-end close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting documentation, while enforcing strong internal controls and audit readiness. The Senior Accountant partners closely with accounting staff, FP&A, and finance leadership to deliver reliable financial reporting, drive process improvements, and support scalability as the business grows. Success in this role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a collaborative, proactive approach in an on-site environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience. Big Four or public company experience preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficient in all other Microsoft 365 applications
  • Team player, strong organizational and communication skills, and service-focused attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret data and trends
  • Alignment with the company’s mission and core values
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, working from a computer
  • Onsite work schedule Monday – Friday with flexibility as needed
  • Regular onsite work schedule is Monday through Friday, with flexibility to adjust as business needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and own the month-end close (MEC) process, including timeline management and checklist completion
  • Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring proper documentation, support, and approvals
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly with complete and accurate support
  • Develop, standardize, and maintain workpapers and reconciliation templates
  • Enforce and improve internal controls over financial reporting processes
  • Coordinate with accounting staff to ensure timely and accurate close execution
  • Support internal audit activities and ensure audit readiness of financial records
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability
  • Document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) across accounting workflows
  • Collaborate with FP&A to deliver financial reporting packages and analysis
  • Ensure proper organization and retention of documentation (e.g., SharePoint / audit files)
  • Take ownership of high-risk or complex accounting areas as assigned
  • Support special projects and initiatives driven by the Controller or Director of Finance & Accounting
  • Perform other work-related duties and projects as directed
