About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a growing organization in Houston, Texas. This role will serve as a key member of the accounting and finance team, responsible for overseeing full-cycle accounting operations, inventory and cost accounting, tax compliance, financial reporting, and cash flow management. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting best practices.
Experience managing full-cycle accounting processes and month-end close activities.
Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and COGS analysis.
Knowledge of sales tax, business tax compliance, and multi-state tax reporting requirements.
Experience working with external auditors, CPA firms, and tax advisors.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.

Nice To Haves

CPA designation or CPA-track preferred.
Experience with ERP systems, inventory management systems, and tax automation platforms is a plus.
Experience in manufacturing, distribution, inventory-based, or product-driven environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
Track, reconcile, and manage inventory valuation and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
Calculate and analyze landed costs, including freight, customs duties, tariffs, and related expenses.
Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts to support operational and purchasing decisions.
Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations to leadership.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning initiatives.
Manage federal, state, and local tax compliance, including sales tax, property tax, and business-related filings.
Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, and tax professionals to support compliance and reporting requirements.
Establish, maintain, and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial procedures.
Partner cross-functionally with operations and other departments to improve efficiencies and support organizational goals.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and applicable regulations.
Support special projects and other accounting and finance initiatives as assigned.
