About The Position

Collectors is the leading creator of innovative technology that provides value-added services for collectors worldwide. We grade, authenticate, vault, and sell millions of record-setting collectibles, all while modernizing and digitalizing the process to further our mission of helping collectors pursue their passions. We’re always on the lookout for talented people to join our growing team. Our services span collectible trading cards, autographs, comic books, coins, video games, event tickets, and memorabilia. Our subsidiaries include PSA, PCGS, Beckett, SGC, and Card Ladder. Since our founding in 1986, we have graded and authenticated millions of items. We employ more than 3000 people across our headquarters in Santa Ana, California and offices in New Jersey, Texas, Florida, Japan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Canada, Mexico, Germany, and France. We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team to be a hands-on contributor to the accounting process for one of our brands and a key contributor to our financial foundation. We need someone who thrives in the details and sees the bigger picture—someone eager to roll up their sleeves while building the scalable, SOX-compliant processes of the future. This isn't just about managing the books—it's about leveraging AI and automation to transform our month-end close into a high-speed, high-accuracy engine. You’ll report to Director of Accounting and work from our Santa Ana, CA office headquarters. Hybrid candidates will also be considered. We believe that there is significant value in in-person collaboration. If you live within a 1 hour commuting distance to one of our offices, you will be required to be onsite most of the time. This will be discussed further as part of the recruiting process.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of accounting experience (a mix of Big 4 public accounting and industry is preferred)
  • CPA license or active CPA candidate
  • NetSuite experience is a strong plus, but solid proficiency in a similar modern ERP (e.g., Sage Intacct, Oracle, SAP) is required.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP implementation or significant system migrations is highly valued
  • Prior experience in a public company, company preparing for an IPO, or navigating rigorous external audits
  • The "Builder" Mentality: You aren't satisfied with "the way it's always been done." You enjoy creating new processes and finding efficiencies in a high-growth environment
  • High Agency & Bias for Action: You don't wait for a roadmap; you create one. You take full ownership of your work, proactively identifying bottlenecks and solving them before they become issues
  • Systems Savvy: You have solid familiarity with modern ERPs and a genuine interest in accounting technology and AI tools. You understand how data flows through a system and how to make it work harder for you
  • Technical Foundations: Strong command of US GAAP and hands-on experience with intercompany accounting across multiple subsidiaries
  • Detail-Oriented & Scalable: Organized, precise, and able to juggle competing priorities without dropping the ball. You build documentation that stands up to the scrutiny of Big 4 auditors and IPO requirements
  • Communicator: A collaborative team player with strong communication skills. You can translate complex accounting entries into meaningful insights for stakeholders in Finance and Operations

Responsibilities

  • Drive the Close: Work closely with the Accounting Manager and corporate accounting team to execute the month-end close process across multiple subsidiaries and business lines, including intercompany eliminations, cash, accruals, fixed assets, prepaids, and payroll
  • Shorten the Cycle: Leverage AI-driven tools and software to automate manual workflows, with a goal of significantly reducing our days-to-close
  • Compliance & SOX: Operate and continuously improve internal controls in a fast-moving environment—maintaining current compliance with external audit requirements while helping to uplevel our processes with an eye toward future SOX readiness
  • Collaborative Analysis: Partner with the Finance & Strategy team to perform deep-dive fluctuation analysis across the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows to explain the "why" behind the numbers
  • Audit Support: Serve as a key contributor to our annual external audits, preparing and reviewing audit documentation to ensure it is thorough and audit-ready before submission
  • Mentorship: Help elevate those around you—sharing knowledge, reviewing work, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
