About The Position

ChristianaCare is searching for a Senior Accountant to be responsible for performing accounting functions as part of the Financial Accounting and Reporting team to produce complete and accurate financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 3 years accounting experience required, preferably in Healthcare
  • Strong excel skills required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare financial or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Position will support accounting functions for Christiana Care Health System, Inc., and its subsidiary companies. May be asked to work on related organizations as needed.
  • Facilitates and completes the monthly close process in Workday Financials by preparing and reviewing general ledger journal entries as assigned.
  • Accounts for all lease agreements, including Finance & Operating leases.
  • Work closely with the Real Estate & Property Management team for real estate lease updates.
  • Track monthly revenues and expenses for various real estate properties.
  • Prepare month end financial statements, Cash Flow, and various ad hoc reports.
  • Provides support and prepares schedules for the annual external audits, insurance renewals, and filings including Form 990, Personal Property Tax returns, and other filings as assigned.
  • Assists with trend analysis and budget variance analysis.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly general ledger reconciliations.
  • Collaborates with IT Finance team to build, validate, improve, and troubleshoot reports in Workday Financials.
  • Develops and maintains supporting documentation for all aspects of job functions.
  • Identifies and proposes process improvement opportunities.
  • Performs other duties and special projects involving detailed research as required.
  • Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
  • Reports to Manager in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
