About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of properties. This role focuses heavily on hospitality-based duties, and month-end close execution within Netsuite. The Senior Accountant works closely with the Accounting Manager and Operational teams to ensure accurate billing, revenue recognition, balance sheet integrity, and GAAP-compliant reporting across a multi-entity portfolio. Strong preference for candidates with prior hospitality accounting experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive property accounting experience.
  • 2+ years in commercial retail or mixed-use property accounting preferred.
  • Experience in hospitality management or mixed-use property management operations.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite.
  • Prior Experience with Salesforce and Opera is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving instincts.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities across a growing portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures for assigned properties.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and prepaid amortizations.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and review/post daily bank activity.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and proper expense allocation across entities.
  • Monitor homeowner monthly expenses and coordinate with Accounting team on Statement assessment.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages including: Income statements, Balance sheets, Cash flow statements, Budget-to-actual variance analysis.
  • Assist with preparation of ownership reporting.
  • Analyze material variances and provide explanations to management.
  • Track property-related capital expenditures.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and ensure proper capitalization and depreciation.
  • Assist with annual audit preparation and documentation requests.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Work closely with Operational leaders to ensure data accuracy.
  • Address accounting questions related to owner billing and cost recoveries.
  • Communicate with ownership and Operations as directed by the Accounting Manager.
