About The Position

Since 1948, Follett Products, LLC, has led the industry in designing and manufacturing high-quality, innovative ice storage bins, ice storage and transport systems, ice machines, ice and water dispensers, ice and beverage dispensers, and medical-grade refrigerators and freezers for the food service and healthcare industries. Follett currently has an opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our team! The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of the Company’s financial records and reporting within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining strong financial controls, leading key aspects of the close process, and supporting compliance with US GAAP and internal policies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and experienced in managing complex accounting processes while partnering cross-functionally to support operational and financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain ownership of balance sheet accounts, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Strengthen and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and US GAAP.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Support processes related to inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing variances.
  • Ensure accurate accounting for standard costs, overhead allocations, and inventory valuation.
  • Maintain company fixed asset records in compliance with company policies, fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
  • Support financial statement preparation, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and FP&A to ensure proper financial treatment of transactions and initiatives.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and reduce cycle times in accounting processes.
  • Assist with system implementations, upgrades, and data integrity initiatives impacting financial reporting.
  • Mentor and review work of junior accounting staff, providing guidance and technical support.
  • Ensure adherence to tight deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
