Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years of full charge staff accountant experience including financial statement preparation, account reconciliations and workpaper preparation experience OR industry experience with Medicaid and Medicare cost reports for various provider types (not required, but preferred).
  • Must have strong Excel skills.
  • Fixed assets and depreciation
  • Payroll, including preparation of quarterly and annual payroll tax filings
  • Travel throughout the eastern and central time zones on occasion with approximately 5% overnight travel

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Experience with PointClickCare or Sage Intacct preferred; Yardi, Peachtree and/or Creative Solutions a plus.
  • Experience with FX and/or FAS preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partner with client leadership teams to support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and board reporting initiatives.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to improve results.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies by reconciling subsidiary systems with the general ledger.
  • Prepare Medicaid and Medicare cost reports for various provider types including skilled nursing facilities, home health and hospice organizations.
