About The Position

Cherry Bekaert is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant . This role is responsible for month‑end close activities, reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable processing and review, and accurate coding of transactions. The Senior Accountant will also track international wire activity. The ideal candidate brings strong nonprofit accounting experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Requirements

• Nonprofit accounting experience is required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (preferred)
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month‑end close processes
• Experience with accounts payable processing, review, and coding
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines with a high level of accuracy and organization
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience using QuickBooks
• Experience with Anybill
• Familiarity with international wire transfers
• Experience supporting audits and grant or funder reporting

Responsibilities

• Perform month‑end close activities, including preparation and posting of journal entries
• Complete timely and accurate balance sheet and bank account reconciliations
• Process, review, and code accounts payable transactions in accordance with internal controls
• Track and reconcile international wire transfers and related documentation
• Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor inquiries
• Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
• Support process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting
