About The Position
Tipton is a DFW based, full-service real estate firm whose primary business is third party fee management. Our managed portfolio has consisted of apartments, office buildings, retail, manufactured home communities and commercial office condominium associations. Tipton currently manages over 19,000 apartment units, a number of suburban office buildings and several commercial office condominium associations. Due to recent growth, we are looking for a Senior Accountant for our Plano office and will report to the Accounting Manager. This is an in office position. Tipton team members are more like family, and we have been successful at creating a very positive work experience, resulting in minimal turnover in key positions. The successful candidate will enjoy salary and quarterly bonuses well in excess of what is average in the DFW area for similar experience/responsibilities. Requirements
- College Degree – accounting, finance, or business majors
- 5 years’ experience in a staff accounting position.
- Advanced excel skills, including Vlookups and Pivot tables
Nice To Haves
- Prior Senior Accounting experience a plus
- Multi-Family Real Estate experience a plus
- RealPage/Onesite Management and Accounting Software

Responsibilities
- Assist in closing the accounting books for each property at the end of the month
- Review, research and post reclasses and accruals
- Review and process accounts payables for properties
- Perform monthly bank account reconciliations
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Generate preliminary and monthly financials for multiple owners
- Interface with clients as needed relative to property accounting, reporting and distributions
- Provide clients with accounting & reporting requests
- Assist in new property onboarding and dispositions as needed
- Assist with PBCs for annual audits
- Assist with special projects
