About The Position

Strata Decision Technology is seeking a Senior Accountant to strengthen its accounting function as the business scales. The role has ownership of month-end close, technical accounting, and core accounting processes, and works closely with the accounting team, FP&A, and business operations. The position supports accurate and timely financial reporting, effective controls, process improvements, and accounting system enhancements.

Requirements

At least 2 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting or a corporate accounting role.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
Hands-on experience with SOX compliance.
Experience with ERP systems.
Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A process-improvement mindset and interest in making processes more efficient and effective.

Nice To Haves

CPA or active CPA candidacy.
Experience with NetSuite.

Responsibilities

Lead month-end and year-end close activities for assigned general ledger areas, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Apply U.S. GAAP to complex transactions.
Maintain accounting policies and documentation, and support requests from internal and external auditors.
Partner with billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to resolve discrepancies and improve process controls.
Identify process improvements and support system enhancements in NetSuite and other accounting systems.
Support leadership financial analysis and reporting, including variance explanations and financial statement disclosures.
Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to team process documentation.
