About The Position

Episcopal Homes of Minnesota has proudly served seniors in St. Paul's Midway neighborhood. Our vibrant campus offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Hospice services. Residents enjoy access to exceptional amenities, including a fitness center, pool, pub, theater, and gourmet dining. We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a key role for a highly skilled accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has expertise in financial reporting, account reconciliations, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who can work independently, support executive leadership, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA or CPA-eligible preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive senior-level accounting experience.
  • Expert-level experience preparing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Extensive experience with complex account reconciliations and general ledger accounting.
  • Strong background creating ad hoc financial reports for executive leadership.
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, and complex financial formulas.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly and confidently to leadership.

  • Healthcare, senior living, or nonprofit accounting experience.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and audit preparation.
  • Proven ability to improve financial processes and drive operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close process.
  • Perform complex general ledger and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and deliver ad hoc financial reports and analysis for executive leadership.
  • Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and organizational accounting policies.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Support the annual audit by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
  • Manage fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and other complex accounting functions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Mentor and support members of the accounting team as needed.
