Purpose: The Senior Accountant role supports the Controlling team for financial accounting and reporting, responsible for the financial integrity of the legal entities of Vesuvius to which they are assigned. The role works with regional shared service teams and manage the operational accounting and reporting processes and ensures timely and accurate processing of operational accounting, period close and group & local statutory reporting.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant desirable with relevant accounting experience.
  • Preference for manufacturing or similar industry with multi-revenue stream operations
  • Ability to work to tight time scales, manage multiple tasks whilst maintain a high level of accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including local statutory reporting
  • Ensure period end processes are executed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Review outputs from the shared services teams and ensures completeness and accuracy
  • Conducts balance sheet reviews where prepared by shared services and ensures completeness and accuracy
  • Supports Regional/ Entity controllers with action plans for open balance sheet items
  • Provides input to judgement journals required during the period end process
  • Provides oversight on billing and customer invoicing activities performed by shared services
  • Supports with clarification of escalated supplier queries, where it cannot be resolved by shared services
  • Acts as a point of interface between shared services and the relevant business area/ entity to manage escalations and clarifications relating to financial transactions
  • Provide ad hoc financial support to the business
  • Responsible for ensuring that processes comply with the Vesuvius Control Framework and Accounting Standards
  • Develop continuous improvement initiatives
