About The Position

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the Company's Accounting functions. The position requires a highly motivated, "roll-up your sleeves" professional. We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills with a particular emphasis on revenue recognition and a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of overall accounting experience
  • 4-year Undergraduate Degree, preferably in Accounting, Business or Finance

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with manufacturing and/or Engineering Services is a plus
  • QuickBooks or ERP experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with the preparation of external financial reports and audit schedules
  • Apply revenue recognition principles in accordance with ASC 606 and company policies
  • Review customer contracts and purchase orders to determine proper revenue recognition treatment
  • Prepare revenue-related journal entries and maintain accurate revenue schedules
  • Reconcile revenue accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Support the billing process and ensure revenue is recognized in the appropriate period
  • Collaborate with Operations and Sales teams to ensure proper revenue recognition for manufacturing contracts and projects
  • Perform account analysis and investigate unusual transactions or variances
  • Utilize AI to automate and gain efficiencies
  • Assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures
  • Support special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control procedures
  • Support internal and external audit requirements
  • Maintain organized and complete documentation to support financial transactions
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Operations, Sales, and Procurement
  • Communicate effectively with leadership regarding financial results and issues
  • Participate in continuous improvement
