About The Position

The Senior Accountant – GL Accounting will be responsible for the completeness and accuracy of Corporate general ledger accounts. This includes primary responsibility for Corporate SG&A, payroll, and certain cash management transactions. This is a temporary assignment to cover a leave of absence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated general ledger accounting experience (public accounting or relevant corporate accounting experience preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and consistent follow-through on assigned tasks.
  • Experience with financial accounting systems (Sage Intacct & Blackline a plus).
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office.
  • Proactive self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment and an ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet pressing deadlines.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work, also while being able to see the big picture.
  • Readiness to embrace and drive process improvements/efficiencies.
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA/CPA candidate or Master’s Degree desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Be a key player in the Company’s monthly and quarterly close.
  • Support cash functions by recording treasury activities, performing bank reconciliations, and drive automation opportunities and enhancement of controls over cash recordkeeping.
  • Record company wide payroll weekly and have responsibility for account reconciliations of all payroll related balance sheet accounts. Act as primary liaison between HR and accounting to ensure proper coding of payroll expenses.
  • Research, investigate, and report on account variances for monthly fluctuation analysis.
  • Prepare corporate accounting schedules required to support quarterly and annual filings and respond in a timely manner to auditor inquiries.
  • Work cross-functionally with company departments.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement – including the automation of certain tasks and general ledger impacting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting and reporting deadlines.
  • Perform other duties and projects assigned.
  • Be a team player with a willingness to learn, take on additional tasks, and look for ways to gain efficiency.
