About The Position

Celero Commerce is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic Accounting team in a remote role. This position offers the opportunity to lead critical financial processes, collaborate across departments, and mentor others while making a meaningful impact on the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. The role requires experience in the payments industry and involves leading month-end close activities, preparing journal entries, managing consolidations, maintaining fixed asset schedules, supporting audits, analyzing financial data, and mentoring junior staff. The company is unable to consider applicants residing in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Washington.

Requirements

  • Remote position
  • Payments Industry experience required
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a similar position
  • Proven experience leading month-end close processes and preparing journal entries.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with NetSuite (or similar accounting systems).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communicator who collaborates well across teams.
  • Leadership mindset with the ability to mentor and guide junior staff.
  • A proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to problem-solve and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate month-end close activities to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare complex journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Manage multi-entity consolidations, allocations, and eliminations.
  • Maintain the fixed asset schedule, including capitalization, depreciation, and tracking.
  • Support external audits with schedules, documentation, and responses.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Mentor and train junior staff members, fostering team growth and knowledge-sharing.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
