Care At Home (‘CAH’) is an integrated care delivery provider, managed by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team focused on delivering high-touch, community-based support directly in the homes of our most fragile, medically complex, and costly populations. CAH serves over one million members across more than 17 markets, utilizing care navigators to connect members to doctors, coordinate care needs, ensure annual comprehensive visits, link to local resources, identify Stars gaps, and support UHC sales agents. The Senior Accountant will become a subject matter expert on the monthly revenue and membership for the Care at Home business. This role involves preparing and posting journal entries, creating reporting, performing ad hoc analysis, maintaining balance sheet reconciliations for receivable and liability accounts, and organizing/providing commentary on P&L or BS accounts to assist in accurate financial statement preparation. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate with the accounting team, finance team, and other business areas and segments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 3+ years in finance and accounting experience
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to address issues in daily work
  • Ability to be self-motivated with attention to detail
  • Proven time management skills to properly plan and execute on deadlines
  • Ability to take responsibility and ownership of assignments
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products

Nice To Haves

  • CPA a plus
  • Accounting and finance systems experience - PeopleSoft, SmartView / Essbase
  • Experience working with large amounts of data

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Journal entries primarily related to membership, revenue and SG&A to support the month end close
  • Prepare monthly reporting to supplement the month end close
  • Prepare quality Account Reconciliations and make quality improvements
  • Provide audit support to internal and external auditors
  • Perform Ad Hoc membership and revenue variance analysis and investigate differences
  • Refresh monthly flux files and provide meaningful commentary for period over period variances on the P&L and BS
  • Create and maintain process documentation
