Job Summary: The Senior Accountant is responsible for advanced accounting operations, monthly invoicing, general ledger management, and financial reporting while also serving as the liaison between Accounting and IT. This hybrid role ensures the accuracy, efficiency, and optimization of accounting systems, supports process improvements, and enhances data integrity across financial platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of accounting experience.
  • Three or more years of hands-on experience with accounting software packages preferably NetSuite.
  • Previous experience with financial accounting statements, general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures including US GAAP, proven experience with general ledger functions, strong attention to detail and proven analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP's and pivot tables, proven experience with MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyze, and input usage for customer invoicing.
  • Validate customer go live dates for proper timing of invoicing.
  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Respond to customer invoicing inquiries.
  • Post error-free accounting reports and present results.
  • Identify errors and suggest ways to automate and improve efficiency.
  • Assist with financial statement audits.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP principles.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Review tax compliance notices and respond accordingly to payroll processor or state.
  • Manage data integrity, interfaces, and system-driven reporting.
  • Design, implement, and support accounting and ERP system enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot, update, and maintain accounting software.
  • Provide user training, documentation, and ongoing system support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve system issues.
  • Document and communicate system changes and accounting impacts.
